There are people in this world who are less fortunate than you are. There are some who struggle to find food to eat, some who struggle to keep the lights on, some who may not have all of the necessities that they need to make it through the day. In this tough economic situation that WE, as the human race are in, it may seem strange for people telling you to “Do More.” Contrary to belief, this mindset is best used in times such is this.
Not everyone has the means to take a family of 5 to the supermarket and stock their home with food for the month. Not everyone has the ability to put a full tank of gas in someones car so that they can get back and forth to work to support their family. You might not even have the means to give $5 to someone who just needs a hot meal from McDonalds. But we all can ”Do More.”
I challenge you to “Do More.” I challenge you to pick up litter along side your neighborhood street. I challenge you to adopt an elderly person and just drop by their home just to say hello. I challenge you to be a presence in a local under-privilaged, poverty ridden neighborhood and “Do More to make it better. Im not saying empty out your life savings to help someone else out, Im saying get out in the community, partner up, organize, talk to people, and do what ever is in your power to help relieve them of the issues.
Not everyone is a Drug counselor, financial planner, domestic violence expert, or nutritionist but if you talk to someone, post a tweet, update your status, or even put out a flyer with what you are trying to accomplish, people will start talking and sooner than you expect, your mission will be underway.
We all have a smile, we all have a hug, we all have a listening ear. We can’t get where we are going by remaining where we are. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have gotten.
